This project aims to identify, evaluate and further develop sustainable (technical) solutions for the treatment of water streams with a high concentration of salts (e.g. sodium, chloride), nutrients and other components, which are generated in greenhouse horticulture. The goal is to maximize water and nitrate use/recovery and to achieve nearly Zero Liquid Discharge. Ultimately, this project intends to provide practical guidelines of possible routes to minimize liquid discharges in greenhouses.
