Samenvatting project
In 2030 nutrient losses from the agrifood system must be reduced by 50%. In 2030, municipal waste must be recycled by 60%. Both targets can be met by recycling a much larger part of city biowaste in food production. This comes with a risk: chemical contaminants may accumulate in soil, and pathogens may contaminate crops. The project develops a food-safety-by-design approach and provide guidelines to support the development of certified applications for using biowaste in food production.
