Analytical tools will be developed that allow pig farmers to use faecal characteristics for monitoring and improving health, well-being and nutrient utilization of pigs. Relationships between faecal composition of pigs and performance, health and welfare will be established. The analytical tools that will be developed allow farmers to design more instant interventions (e.g. nutritional and management) to increase the general level of health, welfare and nutrient efficiency of pigs.
